Here are the five common types:

1. Descriptive Text – provides details about a person, place, thing, or event.

2. Sequence/Procedural Text – explains steps or processes in order (e.g., recipes, instructions).

3. Cause and Effect Text – shows the relationship between events or actions.

4. Compare and Contrast Text – explains similarities and differences between two or more things.

5. Problem and Solution Text – presents an issue and explains how it can be resolved.
